The Bellowing Earwigs reunite four improvisers who have already played, recorded and performed in duos or other groupings. Saxophonist Adrian Northover has developed an intense playing relationship with either acoustic guitarist Daniel Thompson and amplified objects scraper and rubber Adam Bohman, all three being stalwarts of the improvising London scene. Belgian Singer Jean Michel Van Schouwburg is working steadily with Bohman as a duo and also shared the stage with Thompson, both in other groups. During two successful club gigs, the Bellowing Earwigs have built new entangled configurations of their own individual sounds creating some ephemeral, moving and unstable balance of energies, poetic correspondences and spontaneous inventions.
Impossible to fit them in one specific box or on a determined shelf.
Escaping the common sense of boredom, they sweep each moment like Giraffes on Perpendicular motion into any Compartment of multifarious and mutual listening modes.
